Anna Deproto
Morello
Apr 20, 1946 — Oct 25, 2025
Anna Morello, of Middletown, Connecticut, beloved wife of Carmelo Morello, passed away peacefully at the age of 79, surrounded by her family, following a brief illness. She faced her final days with the same grace and strength that defined her life.
Born on April 20, 1946, in Melilli, Sicily, to the late Josephine and Salvatore DeProto, Anna came to Middletown at the age of three, where she made her lifelong home. She attended Snow Elementary School and was a proud 1964 graduate of Woodrow Wilson High School.
In 1965, she married Carmelo, and together they raised three sons who were the absolute center of her world. Her greatest joy came from time spent with family and friends-these gatherings were truly what made her happiest. After raising her children, she worked for 26 years in the Middletown school system until her retirement in 2007.
To know Anna was to love Anna; she will forever be cherished in our hearts.
She leaves her husband Carmelo; her sons and daughters-in-law, Angelo and Susan Morello of Wethersfield, Salvatore and Nicole Morello of Rocky Hill, and Michael and Laura Morello of Middletown, her cherished grandchildren, Melissa, Sarina, Mia, Peyton, Luke, Samantha, Maeson Morello, Jessica, Joseph (Chelsea), and Chloe Amenta, her beloved sister, Nellie Filingeri, and brother-in-law, Frank Filingeri of Middletown, as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.
In addition to her parents and in-laws, Angelo and Josephine Morello, she was predeceased by her beloved niece, Carmen Filingeri Webber, her brother-in-law, Sebastian Scionti, and her brother-in-law, Bruno Morello.
Family and friends are invited to pay their respects Sunday, November 2nd, from 2-5 pm at D'Angelo Funeral Home, 22 South Main Street, Middletown. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 am on Monday, November 3rd at St. Sebastian Church, 155 Washington Street, Middletown.
