Antonino Scalia, 92, of Middletown died peacefully June 5, 2021 at his home surrounded by his loving family.
He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Giuseppa (Lisitano) daughters, Agata (Luigi) LaBella, Lucia (Carmelo) Giuliano, Santina Scalia, Lea (Peter) Miro. Seven grandchildren who loved him beyond words Sebastiano and Antonino LaBella; Alessandra Cornelio, Briana Rojas, Giuseppe Giuliano, Anthony (who helped nonno in the garden and during his declining health) and Noah Miro. Great-grandchildren Luigi, Luca and Riccardo.

He was predeceased by his infant son, Leonardo, sister Santina, brothers Angelo, Giuseppe, and Rosario, brother-in-laws Antonino Ramondetta, Sebastiano, Rosario and Vittorio Lisitano. He leaves behind sister-in-laws Nella Ramondetta, Nella Lisitano, and Lucia Lisitano including several nieces and nephews.

Antonino was born March 27, 1929 in Sant'Antonino, Catania, Sicily. He was a loving, kind, and hard-working man who always put his family first before himself. His passion for gardening and wine making was his favorite pastime which he enjoyed sharing with family and friends.

The family is thankful of the great care Yaqoob Munir provided Antonino.

Calling hours are June 9, 5–7pm at D'Angelo Funeral Home, Middletown. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated June 10 at 10am at Saint Sebastian Church in Middletown.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Saint Sebastian Restoration Fund, Middletown.
