Santostefano , Aurora (Cordova)
Aurora (Cordova) Santostefano, 86, of Middletown peacefully passed away on Monday, March 15th. She was born on October 1, 1934 in Mosquero, NM, daughter of the late Bernardino and Aurelia (Vigil) Cordova. She was a member of the St. Sebastian's Church, where she taught Religious Instructions, and was an active member of the Spanish Community at St. Francis of Assisi, participating in the choir and as an Administer of The Eucharist.
She is predeceased by her husband Joseph S. Santostefano of Middletown, her parents, her sisters Feliciana Mata, Eloisa Mata, Gomicinda Montano, Petra Cordova, Domitilia Cordova and Bernice Paiz as well as her brothers Pedro, Paul, Zacaras and Bernardino Cordova.
She is survived by her children Joseph Santostefano, Dino Santostefano and wife Cheryl, Lisa El-Lakis and husband Mike, and John Santostefano, and her grandchildren George, A.J., Ryan, Alyssa, Cecilia, Gabriella, Christina and Angelo and great grandson, Nico; as well as many cousins,nieces and nephews.
Aurora was employed for many years at Wesleyan University as well as the Russell Library. She loved to travel, enjoyed spending her days at the beach and especially enjoyed time spent with her grandchildren. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother who will be greatly missed.
Services will be Monday, March 22 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Sebastian's Church followed by a Christian Burial at St. Sebastian's Cemetary in Middlefield. Visiting hours will preceed the Mass from 9:00-10:30 a.m. on March 22 at D'Angelo Funeral Home, 22 South Main Street in Middletown. Visitors are asked to adhere to social distancing and to please wear a mask; visiting will be walk-through.
