Candido P. Iacobellis, 90, of Berlin, CT (formally of Portland, CT), passed away on Wednesday, January 4, 2017 at Hartford Hospital after a brief illness. He was born in Wallingford on August 28, 1926, the eldest son of August Iacobellis and Louisa (Lavorgna) Iacobellis. Connie, as he was known by all who knew him, loved gardening, watching baseball and driving sports cars. He is survived by his wife of 71 years, Mary E. (Russo) Iacobellis. He is also survived by two daughters Marie Satagaj of Berlin and Anne Aksamit and her husband Frank of Newington. In addition, he is survived by two brothers, Dante Iacobellis and his wife Peggy of Branford and August Iacobellis and his wife Millie of Guilford. He is also survived by three grandchildren, Jordan Satagaj and his husband Paul George of New Milford, Jaimie Satagaj and her husband Paul Barone of Cromwell and Jenny Satagaj of Berlin as well as many nieces and nephews. He also leaves behind his wonderful friends, all members of the infamous coffee club. D'Angelo Funeral Home, 22 South Main Street, Middletown, CT is in charge of arrangements. Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Sunday, January 8th, 1-3 PM with a Celebration of Life at 3:00PM. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
