Obituary

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved Nonna and mother, Carmella Pitruzzello (Monarca). Carmella, wife of her late husband Vittorio Pitruzzello passed away on Monday October 27, surrounded by her family. Carmella is survived by her children Maria Emanuele (Aldo) of Middletown, Rita Parrilla (Kenneth) of Reunion, FL, Salvatore Pitruzzello (Deborah) of Higganum, Silvana Scamporino of Middletown, and Lorenzo Pitruzzello of Middletown, 10 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Carmella was born in Mellili, Sicily and raised her family in Middletown. Carmella, a devoted Italian-American matriarch whose kitchen was always the heart of her home, found her greatest joy in preparing meals that brought everyone together. Her recipes became family traditions, treasured for generations. Her kitchen was not just a place to eat but a haven of warmth, laughter, and song. We will miss her daily presence, her generosity, and the incredible spirit with which she loved and cared for us all. Though her hands are at rest, her legacy lives on and her memory will be cherished forever. Funeral services will be provided by D'Angelo Funeral Home on Saturday November 1st beginning at 8:30 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at St. Sebastian's church. Burial will follow in the family plot at St Sebastian Cemetery. Family and friends are welcome.
