With profound sorrow, we announce the passing of Cathryn Marie Kelly (née Buccilli), who left this world on November 4, 2025, in Wesley Chapel, Florida, after a courageous battle with illness. Born on October 16, 1956, in Middletown, Connecticut, Cathryn was a beloved daughter, devoted wife, cherished mother, and treasured sister.
Cathryn leaves behind her loving husband of 42 years, Mark, and their son, Matthew, along with his girlfriend, Kira. They share the legacy of love and resilience with her brother, Ron Buccilli, and his wife, Marjorie, as well as her late parents, Joseph and Mary Buccilli.
Cathryn is also survived by a large extended family, including her brothers-in-law, Brian (Sonia), David (Linda), Steven, and John (Laura) Kelly, and her sister-in-law, Anne (Ralph) Schoennagel. She also leaves behind numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
A proud graduate of Mercy High School in Middletown, Cathryn furthered her education at the Ona Wilcox School of Nursing and the Middlesex Hospital School of Radiologic Technology, earning an Associate of Science in Radiography. She was honored to be a member of the American Society of Radiologic Technologists and achieved certification with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists, marking her commitment to excellence in her field.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 4, at 9:00 a.m., at the D'Angelo Funeral Home, 22 S Main St, Middletown. A Mass of Christian burial will follow at St. Pius X Catholic Church, Westfield St, Middletown. Cathryn will be buried at the Indian Hill Cemetery, Middletown.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to the American Lung Association, an organization that reflects Cathryn's enduring spirit and compassion for others.
Cathryn Marie Kelly leaves behind a legacy of love and strength, and her memory will forever remain in the hearts of all who knew her. May she rest in eternal peace.
