Concetta Ranno

Concetta Ranno, nee Blancato, 86, of Newtown St., Middletown, passed away peacefully on July 28, 2024, at the HOCC in New Britain. She was predeceased by her husband, Guiseppe, and her son, Raimondo. She emigrated to the U.S. with her husband and two young children fron Sortino, Italy, during the winter of 1972. She was a parishioner at St. Sebastian Church and loved her family. She also had a passion for cooking and tending to her flower beds. She was employed as a seamstress for several years at Lynn-Grace, Middletown, and also as a dietary assistant at Wadsworth Glen. She is survived by her daughter, Carmela "Milena" Melluzzo and her husband, Paul. She also leaves behind four grandchildren, Milena Melluzzo Carrier, Michael Melluzzo, Alissa and Katie Ranno, a great-grandchild, Mia Batters, and two nephews, Ray and Joe Ranno. Services will be held Friday, August 2, 2024, from 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at D'Angelo Funeral Home, 22 South Main St., Middletown, following with a Mass at 11 a.m. at St. Sebastian Church.
