Obituary

Connie Behnke passed away peacefully on August 20, 2023. She was born in Middletown, CT to the late Mary and Sebastian Marchese. She was part of an extended family, which included 11 aunts and uncles just on her mother's side. After graduating from Middletown High School, Connie spent the next 30 years working at Pratt & Whitney, North Haven, in the office of the plant manager. It was there that she met her husband, Richard. They were married in 1978.They loved their vacations, which were often an adventure, mainly because many times they set out with a destination, a plane ticket, a car rental, and no room reservations. National Parks were always a favorite, along with Disney World, which always made Connie feel like a child again. After retiring from P&W, she took time to take care of her aging mother, take on a part-time job, and raise the best Golden Retriever anyone could ask for. It was during this time that her niece, Kate, was born. Connie was always the happiest when we could get together and she could spoil Kate like any good aunt would do. The other things she liked were going out to breakfast with her friends, shopping, and decorating her home.
Connie leaves behind her husband and their dog Cody, her brother Joe and his wife Barbara, her niece Kate and grandniece Lluvia, her Aunt Josie Marchese, and numerous cousins. She was predeceased by her brother Guy, and our dog Brandy.
Her family would like to thank the teams from Middlesex Health Hospice, and Chestelm Health for the loving and compassionate care they provided Connie.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Notre Dame Church in Durham on Friday August 25, at 10:00 a.m., followed by burial at Saint Sebastian's Cemetery. Calling hours will be at Notre Dame from 9:30 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. prior to the Mass. For online condolences, please visit: www.dangelofuneralhome.com .
