February 25, 1939 - June 21, 2024
Delores Elizabeth (Germano) Carlson, 85, died Friday, June 21, 2024, at Portland Care and Rehab Center in Portland, CT and was predeceased by her husband Clifford. They were married for over 58 wonderful years. Born on February 25, 1939, in Middletown, CT, the daughter of the late Letizia "Mary" (Alessi) and Sebastian Germano. She was the youngest of seven siblings, predeceased by Marie Astromowicz, Sarah Carnabucci, Vince "Skip" Germano, Connie Scandura, Eleanor Skubel and Jane Wilmanski.
Delores previously worked at Bradlee's, A.N. Pierson Nurseries, and Trim Fashions, along with being the best housewife raising her children and instilling so many wonderful qualities in them. Her favorite and often remembered phrases would include "Oh, B!" and "piscade".
She is survived by a daughter Cheryl (Raymond Jansak) of Higganum, CT; and a son Wayne (Lori Scrivener) of Cromwell, CT; and grandchildren April (Casey McLeod), Nicole (Chris Castelli), Jennifer (Brett Sauers), Jason and Sara (Cameron Olsen) and great-grandchildren, Asher; Ivy; Vincenzo and Giovanni; Eliza, Rayla and Kira.
Her legacy, besides her family, are the many wonderful cooking lessons she taught her grandchildren, especially how to make her famous meatballs, sauce and lasagna, ricotta and cherry cheese pies. Mrs. Carlsons' family would like to express their gratitude to Portland Care and Rehab for their compassionate and loving care.
Services will be held Wednesday, July 10, 2024, D'Angelo Funeral Home, 22 South Main St., Middletown, CT between 5 p.m. and 7 p.m.
