enise Rosalie (Flohimont) Varrato
Denise Rosalie (Flohimont) Varrato, 93, of Cromwell, CT passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 2, 2023. She was born in Becco La Reid, Belgium on July 4, 1929 to the late Alfred and Marie Louise Flohimont.
Denise met and married the love of her life, Jerome Varrato, in Belguim during World War II. They were married for 56 years before his passing in 2001. Both were long-time members of St. Sebastian's Church in Middletown, CT.
She is survived by her three daughters and sons-in-law, Marie Louise and Richard Gugliemino of Cromwell, Suzy Hawley and Leonard Pinz of Middlefield, and Rose Marie and James Lundell of Middletown; and by her two sons, Jerome Varrato Jr. of St. Albans, VT and Rene Varrato and his wife, Laurie Varrato of Middletown. She is also survived by 14 of her grandchildren, 24 of her great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by a grandson, Jason Varrato; and great-grandson, Jayson Johnson.
Denise will be greatly missed by her family and all those who knew and loved her.
Calling hours will be on Monday, April 10, 2023 at St. Sebastian's Church, 155 Washington St., Middletown, CT from 10:30-11:00. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11:00 at St. Sebastian's Church.
