Obituary

Edward Ralph DeMino of Rocky Hill passed away after a brief illness surrounded by his two sons on December 17 th . Ed was born in Hartford on February 17, 1931 and was the son of the late John and Lucy DeMino. He was predeceased by his wife Constance (Connie), son Michael, grandson Joe, and sister Dorothy Powers. Ed had a quick wit and a great sense of humor. To know Ed was to like Ed. He grew up in Hartford where he graduated from Weaver High. He went on to honorably serve one term in the US Army and then went on to Teachers College of Connecticut and the University of Hartford where he earned undergrad and graduate teaching degrees. Throughout high school and college Ed played many sports but his passion was baseball where he excelled and earned the nickname Dynamite DeMino for his explosive bat. Ed was also a talented golfer who regularly played Keney, Goodwin Park, and other Connecticut courses. In retirement he landed a job he loved working at the TPC of Connecticut. He even said he would have done it for no pay. While in college he met his future wife Connie. Ed and Connie were married for 61 years until Connie's passing in 2018. They were best friends and inseparable. They had an active social life which included trips to the Connecticut casinos as well as occasional trips to Las Vegas, Atlantic City and Florida. They are both reunited in Heaven to continue their adventures.  Ed and Connie raised three sons who were their pride and joy. Next to raising his sons one of Ed's most important accomplishments was that he taught 5 th and 6 th grade in the Wethersfield school system for more than 30 years. He was a well-liked and well-respected teacher who undoubtably had a positive influence on the many kids who passed through his classroom. Most of all Ed was a gentleman who was a kind, caring and devoted family man who will be missed by his eldest son John, youngest son Jim and wife Karen, Carol and Bud Marino, Marie Milardo, and extended family, friends, and neighbors. A graveside service at St Sebastian's Cemetery in Middletown will be held at a future date. To share a message of sympathy, visit www.dangelofuneralhome.com
