Eleanor LaBarge Zimmitti, 87, of 237 Millbrook Road, Middletown, passed away at home on Thursday, March 3 surrounded by her loving family.
Eleanor was born to Catherine and Arthur LaBarge and lived her entire life in Middletown. She attended Middletown High School where she met her husband Paul Zimmitti whom she married on July 30, 1960.
Eleanor was an amazing mother and homemaker who raised four loving children.
She enjoyed antiquing with her husband and opened "The Legacy" antique store in Portland. Eleanor delighted in gardening and cooking but loved nothing more than spending time with her family and making each and every one feel special and loved.
Eleanor is predeceased by her daughter Jo-Anne and her husband Paul. She is survived by her sisters Theresa Dombroski and Claire LaBarge and sister-in-law Lorraine Brown, her children: son Paul Edward Jr., his wife Lauren, son Mark Thomas, his wife Zina and daughter Pamela Zimmitti Rajkowski and her husband David.
She was a loving grandmother to ten adoring grandchildren: Chelsea, Zachary, Hannah, Aidan, Jaron, Thomas, Justin, Jack, Joanna and Christian, and great-granddaughter Oaklee.
Friends and Family may pay their respects Monday, March 7, at DeAngelo Funeral Home in Middletown from 5:00-8:00pm.
Funeral Mass Tuesday, March 8, at 9:00am at St. Francis of Assisi church in Middletown.
The family welcomes donations to the Jo-Anne Marie Zimmitti Scholarship Fund at Mercy High School in Middletown in honor of Eleanor.
