On May 16, 1950, a beautiful angel, Pinuccia Elena Misenti, was born in Melilli, a little town in SR Italy. Pinuccia was raised in Melilli by her mother, Maria (Pizzo) Misenti, and father, Salvatore Misenti. On June 19, 1971 in Melilli, Pinuccia married the man of her dreams, Nazzareno Francesco Salafia. On September 3, 1971, the newlyweds came to America and made a home in Middletown, CT. Pinuccia was a devoted wife and mother while working full-time as an inspector for Advanced Belt Technology in Middletown, CT. In 2009 Pinuccia was diagnosed with Scleroderma. Pinuccia fought this disease relentlessly for over 6 years. Saturday morning, December 19, 2015 at 1:05am at Yale New Haven Hospital, Pinuccia passed away.

Pinuccia is survived by her husband of 44 years, Nazzareno Francesco Salafia (Middletown, CT), daughter Agata (Salafia) Beynor and husband Michael Beynor (Suffield, CT), two sons Salvatore Salafia and wife Josephine (Carta) Salafia (Middletown, CT), and Alessandro Salafia and wife Joanna (Grasso) Salafia (East Haven, CT). Pinuccia has six grandchildren Katelyn Maria Beynor, Gianna Maria Salafia, Alessandro Anthony Salafia, Nazzareno Francesco Salafia, Milania Josephine Salafia, and Vivianna Rose Salafia. Pinuccia is also survived by her sister Marinella (Misenti) Boscorino [Melilli, SR Italy] and husband Alfredo Boscorino, two brothers Nuccio Misenti [Melilli, SR Italy], and Nicola Misenti and wife Elvira [Melilli, SR Italy], four sister-in-laws: Lucia (Salafia) DiMauro [Priolo, SR Italy], Vittoria (Salafia) Boscarino [Melilli, SR Italy], Marinella (Salafia) Fazzino and husband Paolo Fazzino [Middletown, CT], Candida-P. (Salafia) Monaco and her husband Giovanni Monaco [Palermo, Italy]; five brother-in-laws: TWIN brother Vincenzo Salafia and wife Anna [Melilli, SR Italy], Angelo Salafia and wife Lucia [Melilli, SR Italy], Santino Salafia [Middletown, CT], Benito Salafia and wife Teresa [Paterson, NJ]. She was predeceased by her parents Salvatore and Maria Misenti [Melilli, SR Italy].

Relatives and friends may call on Tuesday evening, December 22, 2015 from 5:00 to 8:00pm at the D'Angelo Funeral Home in Middletown, CT. In lieu of flowers, donations in Pinuccia E. Salafia's memory may be made to the Scleroderma Foundation, 300 Rosewood Drive - Suite 105, Danvers, MA 01923. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, December 23, 2015 at 10:00am at St. Sebastian's Church, Middletown, CT, followed by the burial at St. Sebastian's Cemetery in Middletown, CT.
