Eleonora Misenti DiMauro was called home to our Lord on Tuesday, June 6, 2023. Eleonora was born in Melilli Sicily on November 16, 1926, to Salvatore and Giulia Misenti. Eleonora had amazing skills in crocheting, sewing, knitting, needle point and was employed as a seamstress for many years.
Eleonora married Francesco DiMauro and in 1966, with their young teenage children, immigrated to Middletown, joining many family members in a new country.
Eleonora is survived by her son Salvatore and his wife Enza Quadarella, daughter Enza and her husband James O'Connell. Eleonora was blessed with four grandchildren – Francesco, Amy, Mary-Eleonora, James Jr. - eight great-grandchildren – Salvatore, Andrew, Isabella, Nadia, Gianna, Hannah, Eve, and Caleb. She is also survived by her brother Giuseppe, sisters Anna Rotondi, Filomena Annino and Flavia DeBiasi. Eleonora was predeceased by her sister Maria Saraceno.
Friends may pay their respects on Thursday, June 15 from 9:00 am to 10:30 am at D'Angelo Funeral Home, 22 South Main Street, Middletown. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at St. Sebastian Church, 155 Washington Street, Middletown at 11:00 am.
