It is with great sadness that the family of Evelyn V. Russo announces her passing at Middlesex Hospital on Friday, January 18, 2019. Evelyn, 86, of the Village at South Farms, was born in Middletown, CT to Sebastian and Vincenza (Lanza) Russo and was a lifelong resident.

Evelyn graduated from Middletown High School. She worked as an Executive Secretary to the President at Raymond Engineering until her retirement. She was involved in local politics, was a lifelong parishioner at St. Sebastian Church, and was involved in various church activities. She loved to entertain her friends and family with her cooking and baking skills. She was very proud of her Sicilian heritage.

Evelyn is survived by her sisters Rose Amenta of New Jersey, Helen and her husband John Wojcicki of Middletown, and her brother V. James and his wife Vicki Russo of Middletown, as well as many nieces, and nephews, great nieces and nephews, and even great-great nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents, three brothers, Joseph, Paul and Salvatore and three sisters, Ann Roybal, Connie Nenninger, and Mary Taylor.

The family wishes to thank the staffs of Middlesex Hospital, the Village at South Farms and One Macdonough Place for their excellent care and kindness.

Calling hours are on Wednesday, January 23, 2019 from 5-7 p.m. at D'Angelo Funeral Home, 22 South Main Street, Middletown. A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, January 24, 2019 at St. Sebastian Church 155 Washington Street, Middletown; burial will follow at St. Sebastian Cemetery.
