Flavia Imme (Ternullo), 82 of Middletown passed away peacefully at home on March 11, 2026. She was born in Melilli, Sicily, daughter of the late Giuseppe and Maria Cazzetta Ternullo.
At just 23 years old, Flavia immigrated to the United States with little more than a suitcase and a dream of building a better life. Within a week of arriving, she began working for the Russell Company operating textile looms while teaching herself English by carrying a small notebook and writing down words to study. Through determination and hard work, she built a life she was deeply proud of.
Flavia later worked at Best Cleaners, where she sharpened her gift for sewing. She then went on to open Flavia's Tailoring, a business she proudly operated for more than 30 years, serving loyal customers who often became dear friends.
She shared a loving 42-year marriage with her late husband, Salvatore Imme, who was the absolute love of her life. Together they built a home filled with warmth, laughter, and love. Flavia was the heart of her family, known for her wisdom, generosity, and the Sunday dinners and holidays she lovingly hosted.
Always elegant and welcoming, Flavia was loved by all who knew her. A devoted Catholic, she was a member of St. Sebastian's Church and the Ladies Guild and held a deep devotion to St. Sebastian.
She is survived by her loving children, Giovanni (John) Imme and his wife Linda, Carmelina (Ina) Imme Gallant, Marylou Imme Michel; and her cherished grandchildren, Giovanni (Johnny) Imme, Olivia Michel, and Mason Gallant. She is also survived by her brother Luigi Ternullo and his wife Concetta (Tina), along with many nieces and nephews who she also adored in the United States as well as Sicily.
She was predeceased by her beloved husband Salvatore Imme and her siblings Sebastiano Ternullo (Lucia), Emanuele Ternullo (Concetta), Carmelo Ternullo (Graziella), and Lucia Floridia (Franco).
Funeral services will be held at 10am on Wednesday, March 18, 2026 at St. Sebastian Church, Middletown, followed by a Christian Burial at the family plot in St. Sebastian Cemetery, Middlefield.
Relatives and Friends can call at D'Angelo Funeral home, Middletown Tuesday, March 17, 2026 5- 7 p.m.
