It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, Giuseppa Lisitano Scalia, who left us on April 7, 2025, surrounded by her loving family, at the age of 91. She was born on October 19, 1933, in Melilli, Sicily. She was a cherished mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, whose unwavering love for her family and strong work ethic left a lasting imprint on her family.
She leaves behind her daughters, Agata (Luigi) LaBella, Lucia (Carmelo) Giuliano, Santina Scalia, Lea (Peter) Miro. She was adored by her grandchildren, Sebastiano, Alessandra, Antonino, Briana, Giuseppe, Anthony and Noah. Great-grandchildren, Luigi, Luca and Riccardo, who loved their Nonna very much.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years Antonino, her infant son, Leonardo, her brothers, Sebastiano, Rosario and Vittorio Lisitano. She leaves behind her sister, Nella Ramondetta, sisters-in-law, Nella Lisitano, and Lucia Lisitano, along with her many nieces and nephews.
Rest in peace, mamma. Your legacy of love, hard work, and family will continue to guide us every day.
Calling hours are Friday, April 11, 5 PM - 7 PM at D'Angelo Funeral Home, Middletown, CT. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday, April 12, at 10 AM at Saint Sebastian Church, in Middletown, CT.
