Obituary

Guerino Monarca, 75, of Middletown, Connecticut, passed away on February 26, 2018 peacefully at his home. Guerino was born in Melilli, Italy to the late Sebastiano Monarca and Maria Aresco Monarca on September 2, 1942. Guerino migrated from Melilli, Sicily to Middletown in 1962 and was a resident of Middletown for 56 years. Guerino was a member of the St. Sebastian Church. Guerino was passionate about life, and particularly enjoyed dancing, singing and tending to his garden. Guerino was a hard-working, detail oriented, high-energy individual and a very successful and skilled mason in his working years. Guerino is survived by his loving wife Donata Monarca and his sons, Marco, Riccardo and Amedeo Monarca, his four grandchildren, Grabriella, Ricardo Jr, Sabrina and Nicolas Monarca as well as two daughters-in-law Milena Monarca and Joann Melia. Guerino was predeceased by his loving son Antonio Monarca f rom Middletown, CT and by his brothers and sisters Concetto, Vitterio, Angelina Monarca and Giuseppa Milardo. Guerino also leaves behind his surviving brothers Angelo, Ottavio, and Aldo Monarca as well as his sisters Carmela Pitruzzello, Enza Russo and Concetta Carta. Guerino is also survived by his brother-in-law Rosario Carta and his sisters-in-law Giuseppa, Letizia and Marlena Monarca as well as many nephews, nieces, cousins and friends. Calling hours will be Sunday March 4th, 2018 3-6pm at D'Angelo Funeral home 22 South Main St, Middletown, CT. Funeral services will be held on Monday March 5th, 2018, 10am at St. Sebastian Church 155 Washington St, Middletown , CT. Burial will follow at St. Sebastian Cemetery in Middletown
