Feb 17, 1925 — Mar 1, 2023
Helen Jane (Crescimanno) Carta, 98 of Middletown, CT passed away peacefully at her home on Wednesday, March 1, 2023. She was born on February 17, 1925 to the late Rosario and Vincenza (Guiliano) Crescimanno. While in high school, she maintained a job at the Russell Company up until her retirement. Following that, she worked at the junior high serving meals in the cafeteria. She was a lifelong resident of Middletown and belonged to the Garibaldi Society where she served as President. She was a member of St. Sebastian Church and was part of the parish hall committee. She enjoyed helping her sister Mary at the family owned Paradise Restaurant where she met the love of her life Louis. They were blessed to have been married for 66 years and shared one daughter Nadine. She enjoyed yearly trips to Maine, dancing, making ceramics, baking Italian pastries, working in the garden, spending time with her two grandchildren and singing. She loved daily phone conversations with her sister Lena, who called every day to check in and chat. Helen had a heart of gold, a witty sense of humor and loved her family more than anything else in life. She was predeceased by her husband Louis V. Carta, brothers Sebastian and Salvatore Crescimanno and sisters Rose Crescimanno, Mary Lastrina and Angie Salustro. She leaves behind daughter Nadine and her husband Jack Pieper, grandchildren Cassandra and husband Anthony Corso and Alyssa Pieper, sister Lena Tobias, brother Tom Crescimanno and wife Joyce as well as many nieces and nephews. So much appreciation for all the help, support and compassion from caregivers Nancy, Antelma, Maria, Karon and Corrie. Thank you for your patience and kindness and for always treating Helen like family. She loved and adored each of you and treasured the times shared together over the years. Helen will be greatly missed by all those who knew and loved her.
