Jane Turner, age 85, of Cromwell, Connecticut, passed away peacefully on June 6, 2026. Born on March 8, 1941, in Middletown, Connecticut, Jane lived a life defined by her deep compassion for others, her boundless creativity, and an infectious joy that touched everyone fortunate enough to know her. Jane earned a Bachelor of Science in Physical Therapy from the University of Connecticut, going on to build a distinguished career as a geriatric physical therapist. She dedicated herself to her patients with the same warmth and artfulness she brought to every corner of her life, often incorporating her creative spirit into her care, crafting small, personal touches to brighten the days of those in her charge. In a moment that her family recalls with great tenderness and no small amount of laughter, when Jane herself was admitted to Southington Care following a hip fracture, she famously declined physical therapy, reasoning, with characteristic confidence, that after a career in the field, she knew better. Jane was a woman of joyful, artful spirit. She expressed her love through her hands; painting, knitting, crocheting, and crafting, with a talent and generosity that made her creations treasured gifts to family, friends, and patients alike. She found equal delight in the world of live jazz music, which she enjoyed in the warm company of her dear friend, Ken Chant. Jane lived life fully, embracing each day with the kind of vibrant enthusiasm that made those around her feel seen and celebrated. Jane is survived by her daughter, Lynn Giuffrida; her son, Michael Giuffrida, and his wife Deborah; her grandchildren, Dylan Anthony and Jenna Giuffrida; her great- grandchildren, Kai and Zack Jackson; her sisters, Beth Czajka and Susan Berry; and many beloved nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her sisters, Nancy Bowers and Judy Parmelee; her granddaughter, Andra Anthony; and her dear friend, Ken Chant. Jane Turner leaves behind a legacy not only of professional dedication, but of a life poured into others through her healing hands, her handmade gifts, and her great, generous heart. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered. There will be no public services.
