Obituary

our beloved mother and grandmother, Jennie (Vincenza) Lagana, 90, was peacefully called to
heaven on March 17, 2026, after a long battle with Alzheimer's disease. She is now reunited
with her beloved husband of 65 years, Salvatore.
Jennie was born on October 26, 1935, in Melilli, Sicily, the daughter of the late Concetta
(DiMauro) and Sebastiano Fazzino. After marrying, she left Sicily and brought with her the
strength, resilience, and traditions of her homeland as she built a life with her husband in
Middletown, Connecticut. Jennie found her greatest joy in being surrounded by her children,
grandchildren, family, and friends. She built a life rooted in family, hard work, deep faith, and
love.
Jennie was known for her strong work ethic and determination. She began working at a young
age as a skilled seamstress, a craft she took great pride in, often making clothing for family and
friends and working at Lyn Grace Dress Manufacturing in Middletown. She later worked at
another local manufacturing company, EIS Manufacturing Company, and was a dedicated
employee who always took pride in her work. Her faith was an important part of her life. Jennie
was a devoted member of Saint Sebastian Church, where she was active in many church
groups, such as St. Teresa Guild and Holy Name, and participated in the annual feast. She gave
generously of her time and formed lasting friendships.
Above all, Jennie found her greatest joy in her family. Her grandchildren were the light of her life.
She cherished every moment spent caring for them, attending their events, cooking for them,
and surrounding them with unconditional love.
Jennie is survived by her three daughters, Linda DelMastro and her husband Louis of
Middletown, Maria Morse and her husband Frank of Rocky Hill, and Louise Gauthier and her
husband Daniel of Middletown. She is also survived by her beloved grandchildren: Olivia
DelMastro Palladino and her husband Brennan, Ava DelMastro and her fiancé Brendan, Grace
DelMastro, Emma Morse and her husband Tom Dinda, Lillian Morse, Madelyn Morse, Brian
Gauthier and his fiancée Brianna, and Adam Gauthier.
Jennie is also survived by her sister, Rosina Spedale of Perugia, Italy; her sisters-in-law,
Josephine Lagana of Wallingford, Lucy Fazzino of Middletown, and sister-in-law and
brother-in-law Antoinette and Joseph Didato of Florida. She was predeceased by her brother,
Salvatore Fazzino, her brothers-in-law, Victor Lagana and Joseph Lagana, and her
sisters-in-law, Jeanette Lagana and Mary Marino.
Jennie leaves behind a legacy of love, strength, faith, and devotion to family that will never be
forgotten. The family extends their sincere thanks to the nurses and staff of Water's Edge Health
and Rehabilitation and the Hartford Hospital Hospice Care Unit for their compassion, care, and
support.
