George" Tillotta

John S. (George) Tillotta passed away peacefully at home on the evening of September 1st. He was born to Angelo and Vincenzo Tillotta in Middletown, CT where he resided his entire life. He was a graduate of Middletown High School where he was captain of the football team in his senior year and received the designation of All-State and All-American High School Football Player. After graduation he attended Chester academy on football scholarship, then was drafted and chose to enter the Marine Corps where he served as an admiral's bodyguard for 18 months with Captain PX Kelly who later became a Commandant of the United States Marine Corps. Following his service he enrolled in the American Academy of Embalming and Mortuary Research in NYC. Upon graduation he was employed by the D'Angelo funeral home for several years. He then completed his studies for the CLU designation and joined John Hancock Insurance Company. He worked for Insurance Co of North America, Coughlin and Coughlin Insurance and ended his insurance career with Rice Davis and Daly. He also worked in the real estate industry.
He is survived by his devoted wife Corinne, sister, Mary Tillotta, several nieces, nephews and several god children. He also raised two special people in his life, Jordana Geeser and Dean Krupa. He also treasured many special friendships, neighborhood, YMCA, ST Pius X Church and work colleagues.
The wake service will be at D'Angelo Funeral Home on Thursday, September 4th, from 3-5pm and funeral services at ST Pius X Church on Friday, September 5th at 10:30am.
Please no flowers - donations can be made in his name to ORTV (15 Peach Orchard Rd, Prospect, CT), Little Sisters of the Poor (c/o ST Joseph residence in Enfield, CT), or the charity of the donors choice.
