Ross Sr.

John T. Ross Sr., 89, of Middlefield, husband of Sally (St. Paul) Ross for 63 years
peacefully passed away on Friday, April 27, 2018 at his home. Born in Portland,
Maine, he was the son of Thomas and Mary Blanche LeClerc Ross. John was a
veteran of the Korean war, serving in the U.S. Army and stationed in Germany.
He was a member of the American Legion Post 105 in Cromwell for over 50 years,
serving as Post Commander in 1965. John worked as a printer and advanced to
Night Foreman at the Hartford Times in Hartford for over 20 years. Upon its
closure, he worked for Connecticut Transit for 10 years. John was a hard worker
often holding down two jobs at one time.
Once retired, he and his wife had the opportunity to travel the United States and
Canada. He also enjoyed golfing and was a member of a bowling League. Along
with his wife, John is survived by two daughters, Lori Radke and her husband
Oliver Radke of Bedford, New Hampshire and Sheri Guerrera of Wolcott and son-
in-law Michael Guerrera, five grandchildren, Tyler Calhoun, Evan Guerrera,

Alexander, Taylor and Jessica Radke, as well as, several nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, John was predeceased by his son John Ross Jr, four brothers,
Maurice, Robert, Leo, and Laurent Ross, two sisters, Eleanor Ridacchio and Pearl
Ryzoc, also, several nieces and nephews. Special thanks to Hospice for the very
helpful, caring assistance provided to the family.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, May 4
th
, at St. Colman's Church, 170
Hubbard Street, Middlefield. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
Family and.friends may pay their respects at St. Colman's Church on Friday
between 9:00 and 10:30 a.m. followed immediately by a Mass of Christian Burial.
In lieu of flowers, donations in John's memory may be made to the American
Diabetes Association or charity of their choice. D'Angelo Funeral Home in charge
