Fazzino, Joseph

Joseph Fazzino, 95 of Middletown, waiting patiently until a large family gathering had wished him farewell and Godspeed, passed away peacefully, warmed by the loving touch of his daughter's hand on Wednesday, December 19, 2018.

Joe was born on May 12, 1923, in Melilli, Sicily to parents Paolo Fazzino and Maria Milardo.

He leaves behind his daughter Rose Marie Fazzino-Kuhl, son-in-law Bobby Kuhl, granddaughters Tera Fazzino and Christa Fazzino, their respective husbands Marco Caricato and Alex Hillers, daughter-in-law Joan Fazzino and Joe's sister Sophia Cutrale.

In addition he leaves behind many deeply loved and cherished nieces, nephews and cousins from the Shelton and Middletown.

Joe was predeceased by his father and mother, His wife of 72 years Vincenza "Josie", and his son Paul Joseph Fazzino; seven of his sisters Lucia Laganá, Carmela Fazzino, Concetta DiMauro, Filomena DiBattista, Vincenza LoGiudice, Sebastiana Fazzino, Giuseppa Morello, and his two brothers Sebastiano Fazzino and Vincenzo Fazzino.

Although Joe retained much of his Sicilian/Italian heritage, he was proud to be an American and truly loved the USA and the life its opportunities had allowed him to build here. He was a member of the Saint Sebastian Church in Middletown, and a retired employee of First National Foods and Wesleyan University.

Joe was an avid gardener and incredible cook, who enjoyed crafting delicious meals for large family gatherings. He was an invaluable resource to everyone in the family, well known for his generosity, financial acumen, wise counsel and his comedic timing. He is remembered as a wonderful, loyal, steadfast and loving son, husband, father, uncle, father-in-law and friend. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Calling hours will be held for Joe on Wednesday, December 26, 2018 from 9:30am 10:30pm at D'Angelo Funeral Home, 22 South Main Street Middletown, Connecticut

His procession will leave the funeral home on that morning at 10:30am for a Mass of Christian Burial held at 11:00am at Saint Sebastian Church, 155 Washington Street, Middletown, CT. The interment will directly follow the Mass at Saint Sebastian Cemetery, Middlefield
