Leonie M.
Favara
Sep 16, 1932 — Mar 23, 2020
Leonie M. Favara (Paquette) – 87 – of Portland and formerly Wolcott, Connecticut passed away peacefully on Monday March 23, 2020 after a brief illness. Born September 16, 1932, the youngest daughter of Isaac and Albertine Paquette, Leonie spent most of her life living in the Waterbury area where she met and married Victor Favara on September 3, 1955. Vic and Lee were married nearly 65 years; they were devoted to one another and to their family. Lee loved to paint and was inspired mostly by landscapes and still life. Many of her paintings hung in her home and continue to hang in the homes of her children and grandchildren. Lee also loved to play games - whether it was cards with their friends or board games with their grandchildren she almost always managed to win, much to the chagrin of everyone around her. Lee is survived by her beloved husband Vic, her two daughters Carolyn Daniels and her husband David, Cynthia Fiore and her husband Michael and her son Victor Jr. and his wife Michele. Lee leaves behind six grandchildren and 2 great-grandsons who affectionately referred to her as Nina; Lauren (Daniels) Geary and her husband Jonathan, John Daniels, Alisa (Daniels) Abbazio her husband Chris, Stephen Fiore and his wife Stephanie, and Molly and Jake Ambrosio. Her great grandsons Harrison and Beckett Geary brought her so much joy and a third great grandson due in July would have added to this. She will be missed by all who knew her.
A private burial will take place on Friday, March 27 and a memorial mass will be celebrated at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in her name to the Rose and Barry Daniels scholarship fund at Mercy High School in Middletown. The Favara family would like to thank the staff at both the Village at South Farms and Portland Care and rehab for their kindness and care.
