Obituary

Louis Vincent Carta , 94 of Middletown, CT passed away on Saturday, February 17, 2018 at Middlesex Hospital, after a brief illness. He was born July 9, 1923 to the late Vincenzo and Marietta (F ari - eri) Carta. Louis proudly served his country during World War II , as a member of the 296th Engineer (Combat) Battalion. Upon his retirement from Pratt and Whrtney in 1986, he worked part time for NAPA. He was a lifelong fan of the Yankees, a member of the Elks Lodge #771, and the Italian Society of Middletown. He also enjoyed weekly coffee with his friends at McDonalds. Family meant everything to him. He was so blessed to have been married to the love of his life for 66 years. He adored his only daughter and two grandchildren who were the shill - ing stars in his life. He is survived by his wife Helen (Crescirnanno) Carta, daughter Nadine and her hus - band Jack Pieper, grandchildren Cassie and Alyssa Pieper, sister Marion Tanasi, s i ster-in-law Lena Iobi as , brother-in-law Tom Crescimanno and wife Joyce and many nieces and nephews. Along with his par- ents, he was predeceased by his sisters Rose Lee and Angela Lundell , and brother Sebastian Carta.
Louis was honest, kind, and compassionate. He could make anyone laugh and his presence easily lit up any room. He will be greatly missed by al l who knew and loved him .
Calling hours will be at D'Angelo Funeral Home , 22 South Main St . , Middletown on Friday , February 23, 2018 from 8:30 - 10:30 A.M. A Mass of Chris - tian Burial will follow at 11 :00 A.M. at St . Sebas - tian Church , 155 Washington St . , Middletown , CT . Those wishing to make a donation may do so to the American Heart Association
