CARTA, LOUIS S. Louis S. Carta "Speed" "Louie" "Mr. Carta" "Dad" "Grampa" "Great Grampa "Uncle Louie" "Cousin" of Middletown unexpectedly passed away early Sunday morning at the age of 85. By his side was his loving wife Mary E. Carta as well as his family. Louie was born on September 10, 1929 to Luigino and Sebastiana Tosto Carta. During the early part of his childhood he grew up on College Street. Louie graduated Middletown High School class of 1947. He served in the 43rd Div. of the Army National Guard from 1950-'52. He was a fine union carpenter and was a member of Local 24. He was also a lifelong member of the Knights of Columbus. Louie married Mary E. Fazzino on September 1, 1956 and so began their love filled lives together. During the early part of their married life he and Mary lived on Pearl Street and brought their five beautiful children into this world. They moved to Rockfall in 1969 where the family was raised in the "Carta House" where Louie and Mary still resided. Louie is survived by his wife Mary, his children Louis J. Carta and Jane Sinisgalli-Carta, Christine Carta and David Greaves, Ann Marie Carta and Robert Woods, Christopher Carta and Kristine Grenier-Carta and Andrea Carta. He is also survived by his "favorites", his most special grandchildren Jimmy Larson, Cara Carta, Carly Larson, Maria Carta and Sean Hunt and most recently his great granddaughter, Adalina Carta. He also leaves behind his brother and sister-in-law, Salvatore and Donna Fazzino and their children Lisa and Brian and many more very close nieces and nephews whom he loved dearly. Louie was predeceased by his siblings, Joseph Carta, Lucy Goodale, Helen Nucci, Anthony Carta, Connie Carta, Vera Aresco and Marian Carta. The Carta family would like to thank everyone for their thoughts and prayers. Calling hours will be on Sunday, November 30 from 2-5 pm at D'Angelo funeral home, 22 South Main St., Middletown, CT. A mass of Christian burial will be held on Monday December 1, 2014 at Saint Colman's Church, Middlefield at 10:00am. Burial will be at St. Sebastian's Cemetery, Middlefield, CT.
