Lucy Crescimanno Formica Mrs. Lucy (Crescimanno) Formica, 94 of Middletown, loving wife to the late Nicholas Formica entered into eternal life on November 19, 2013. She was born in Middletown on April 9, 1919 to the late Giuseppe and Rosaria (Cannata) Crescimanno. Lucy was a devoted member of St. Sebastian Church and St. Theresa's Guild. She will be remembered by many for her delicious desserts which she served at every dinner, family gathering and holiday; and shared at church functions. Lucy graduated Middletown High School Class of 1936. Upon graduation she worked as an office assistant for a Middletown business firm. She later worked at Wilcox-Crittenden and retired from the State of Connecticut Department of Income Maintenance in Middletown. Following her retirement she spent much of her time at the Senior Center painting ceramics, going on trips and enjoying her line dancing. As a young woman, Lucy enjoyed dancing, bowling, and traveling with her friends. She especially enjoyed her trips to Europe and Bermuda. A loving and devoted wife, sister, aunt and friend, Lucy leaves behind her nieces Sherry Strammiello (Michael) of Rhode Island, Pamela Muraca (Anthony) of Cromwell, Sharon Marchese (Joseph) and Sandra Gray (Bruce) of Middletown; Linda Breslin (Joseph) of Wethersfield, and Phyllis Nathanson (Alan) of North Carolina; and several great-nieces, cousins, and many dear friends. Lucy held a special fondness and love for her great-great nephew Tiago Strammiello. Lucy was predeceased by her siblings, Sebastian Crescimanno, Rose Marino, Mary Moncardi, Connie Formica, Salvatore Crescimanno, and Carmelina Scott. Lucy's family would like to thank Cecylia Sachmachinska, her live-in care provider, all of the staff at Wadsworth Glen Health Care and Rehabilitation Center, and Middlesex Hospital Hospice and Palliative Care Unit for their care and compassion. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday, November 25 at 10:30a.m. at St. Sebastian Church, 155 Washington St., Middletown. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
