SBONA, MARIA (MILARDO) Maria (Milardo) Sbona, 93, wife of the late Vincent Sbona, passed away Tuesday March 22, 2016 at Wadsworth Glen Health Care Center. She was born October 17, 1922 in Melilli Sicily, daughter of the late Vincenzo and Sebastiana (Marino) Milardo and emigrated to the United States in 1956 with her husband and daughters. She was a member of St. Sebastian Church and the Italian Society of Middletown. Prior to her retirement she was employed by Wesleyan University. She is survived by three daughters and their spouses, Lucy Pantano and her husband Emanuele of Hartford, Nella Marino and her husband Joseph, and Josephine Campisi and her husband David of Cromwell. She is also survived by 7 grandchildren, Sebby, Melissa and Steven Pantano, Patricia (Marino) and Chris Phillippi, Sharon (Marino) and Joe Mack and Matthew and Sarah Campisi and 4 great-children.  She also leaves two brothers, Mario Milardo of Canada and Antonio Milardo of Melilli, Sicily and a sister Yolanda Bafumi of Melilli, Sicily and several nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her brothers Sebastian, Salvatore and Frank and two sisters, Josephine Pagano and Rose Matera. The family wishes to thank the staff at Wadsworth Glen for their compassionate care and kindness shown to their mother. A Mass of Christian burial will be held Tuesday morning at 10:00 A.M. at St. Sebastian Church. There are no calling hours. D'Angelo Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
