With hearts shattered and a love that words can never fully express, we announce the passing of Marlena Rose (Sarcia) Burgess, of Middletown, Connecticut, at the age of 50.Marlena was born in Middletown, Connecticut, to Joseph F. Sarcia Jr. and Carmela (Pitruzzello) Sarcia. She was a beloved daughter, sister, wife, aunt, and dear friend whose beautiful spirit touched the lives of so many.Marlena was the loving wife of Jeffrey Burgess, whom she married on December 7, 2019. Together, they shared years filled with love, laughter, memories, and a bond that will remain forever in their hearts.She is survived by her loving parents, Joseph F. Sarcia Jr. and Carmela (Pitruzzello) Sarcia; her sister, Melissa (Sarcia) McCoy and her husband, Finbar McCoy; her beloved nephews, Logan and Jack McCoy; and her brother, Joseph F. Sarcia III. She also leaves behind extended family and countless friends who will forever cherish her memory.Marlena was a graduate of Mercy High School, Class of 1994. She dedicated 16 years of her life to Liberty Bank, where she attained the title of AVP Debit Card Fraud Manager and built lasting relationships with colleagues and friends.To know Marlena was to love her. She had a heart that was genuine, generous, and full of love. She cared deeply for the people in her life and had a remarkable way of making everyone around her feel welcomed and special. Her beautiful smile and amazing, unforgettable laugh could light up a room, and her infectious personality made her impossible to forget.Marlena lived with a love and warmth that left an imprint on everyone fortunate enough to know her. She was beautiful not only on the outside, but most importantly, in her heart. Her laughter, kindness, love, and the memories she created will be carried by her family and friends for years to come.May she watch over her beloved husband, her parents, her sister and brother-in law, her nephews, and all those she loved so dearly.Though we cannot hold her in our arms anymore, we will hold her forever in our hearts.
