Mary (Finaldi) Buccilli, 91, of Middletown, beloved wife of the late Joseph H. Buccilli, passed away
September 17, 2016, at Middlesex
Hospice
Unit. She was born May 12, 1925, in Meriden,
CT.,
daughter of the late Alfonso and Maria D'Agostino Finaldi. After her
mother's
death at an early age she was raised by her stepmother Giovanna (Petillo) Finaldi. She graduated from Meriden High School in 1943 and worked as a bookkeeper at Genung's Department Store in Meriden. After her marriage to Joseph H. Buccilli in 1948,
she
moved to Middletown and worked with her husband
who
owned Henry's Sandwich Shop on Main St. Later she worked many years at Auburn Mfg. Company in the Accounting Dept. She was an early parishioner of St. Pius X Church and a member of the Altar Society, the AARP and
was
actively involved in the Senior Center in Middletown.
She is survived by a son, Dr. Ronald Buccilli, and his wife Marjorie of East Ham

and
grandson Matthew J. Kelly of Tampa, Florida; a granddaughter, Melissa (Buccilli) Sullivan, her husband James
and great granddaughter, Madeline Sullivan, of Pleasantville, NY; a sister, Phyllis (Finaldi) McGill, of Rockfall and brother-in-law Lindy; a brother, Anthony Finaldi, and sister-in-law, Kathy, of Meriden; also a brother-in-law Lorenzo Aresti
of
Cromwell; cousins Dorothy Levine, Andy DeSarno and his wife Marilyn, Evelyn Popolizio and Mary Allen. Mary loved to cook; it was her passion. She also enjoyed
reading mystery novels, doing
crossword puzzles, knitting and pottery. A special thanks to
the
many people who helped Mary
in her later years,
