Mary Jo Corvo-Angus, beloved wife, mother, grandmother and aunt passed away on Saturday, November 26, 2022. She leaves behind her loving husband, James D. Angus, Jr. of Middletown, her devoted daughter Andrea Lee Charlier of Middletown and her stepson Sean Angus and his wife Jessica and her grandchildren Alanah and Camron Angus of Meriden, Connecticut. She is survived by her brother Mark Corvo of Middletown and her brother Bill Corvo and his wife Betty also from Middletown. She is also survived by her sister-in-law, Sharon Brubaker and her husband Rob and their children James and Robin. She also leaves behind a number of nephews including, Max Corvo of Bristol, Robert Corvo of New Orleans, Greg Corvo of Middletown, Brian Corvo of East Hampton and Andrew Corvo of Middletown; as well as many cousins around the world.
MaryJo was born at Crescent Street Hospital in Middletown, Connecticut on September 20, 1952, the only daughter of Max and Mary (Donovan) Corvo. She attended St. Sebastian School before moving to Catania, Sicily in 1962 with her family. She returned to the United States in 1966 where she lived with her family in Cromwell, Connecticut. She graduated from Cromwell High School in 1970 and went on to earn an Associate's Degree from Hartford College for Women in 1972.
In 1972 she enlisted in the U.S. Army and served in Military Intelligence as a Linguist. She served overseas in Germany before returning to the United States. Her first marriage in 1973 brought forth her first and only child in 1974. From then on she had a successful career as an Executive Recruiter, eventually running her own business.
In 1983 she met and married her husband, James D. Angus, Jr. They lived in Middletown and later, in 1991, they moved to Chicago. They returned to Middletown upon his retirement in 2015. They enjoyed traveling and entertaining with family and friends.
