Bordonaro, Michael P .

Michael Bordonaro, 88, of Middletown passed away peacefully on May, 23, 2016. at Wadsworth Glen Health Care Center . He was born October 16 , 1927, son of the late Emanuele and Gaetana (Fazzino) Bordonaro. He served his country in the United States Navy and the US Air Force. He graduated from UConn in Engineering . He lived and worked in California, for many years before he returned to Middletown in the 1960's. When he returned, he worked for Raymond Engineering and Combustion Engineering, Inc. while caring for his Mother . Mike was an avid golfer , competing and winning many Golf Tournaments .

He is predeceased by his brothers, Salvatore, Joseph, and Albert and two sisters, Anna B . Corvo and Mary B . Annino. He is survived by several nieces and nephews and many great nieces and nephews and their families, who loved and respected him. He touched all of their lives and he will truly be missed. He also leaves his good friend , Mary Leonard.

The family would like to extend a "Special Thank You", to Wadsworth Glen Staff and the Middlesex Memorial Hospital Hospice Care Unit for all the excellent care they provided.

Funeral Services will be held Thursday morning, May 26, 2016, from the D'Angelo Fune r al Home, 22 South Main St., followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 at St. Sebastian Church. Interment with military honors will follow in the family plot , in St. Sebastian Cemetery , Middlefield. Family and friends may call at the funeral home from 9:00-10:30 AM. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in memory of David Bordonaro, to The Bordonaro Children's Education Fund at Liberty Bank .
