D'AMBROSE, MICHAEL Michael D'Ambrose, 55, of Middletown, passed away on July 12, 2014 with his family by his side. Born in New Haven, Connecticut, he was the son of Judith (Bruno) and William Grimm and the late Robert D'Ambrose. He attended St. Aedan School, Lasalette High School, Notre Dame High School, Southern Connecticut State University and Computer Processing Institute. Prior to his retirement, Mike had a successful 30 year career as an IT manager at Aetna in Hartford and Middletown, Connecticut. He was a past president of Middletown Little League, leaving his legacy of lighting for night games and a snack bar at Romegielli Field. Michael was a man of many hobbies, enjoying videography, winemaking, beer making, theater, the arts, computers, investments, and bicycling. Michael was known for his traits such as integrity, honesty, loyalty, kindness, dependability, and overall problem-solving. Loved by hundreds of family members, friends, colleagues, and neighbors, Michael is survived by his wife, Maria (Hoyle), of 30 years, along with his two children, Elizabeth (Mrs. Phil) Mason of Falmouth, ME and his son Joseph of Middletown, CT. Michael was a proud grandfather of two beautiful 3-year old grandsons, Oliver and Noah. Michael is also survived by three siblings, Paul D'Ambrose (and companion Dawn Carliglio), Robin (Mrs. Peter) Gribben, and Sharon (Mrs. John) Perun, and is also survived by his brothers-in-law, Ed and John Hoyle, two nephews, and four nieces. A great man, father, son, brother, uncle, neighbor, and friend, Michael will be greatly missed, and his legacy will live on forever in all of his loved ones. Calling hours will be held at D'Angelo funeral home in Middletown Connecticut on Thursday, July 17 from 5:00 till 8:00pm and a mass of Christian burial at St. Sebastian's church on Friday July 18 at 10:00am. In the past weeks, Michael benefited from the compassionate care of the oncology and critical care units at Middlesex Hospital.
