Nicolo (Nick) Fazzino, 81, of Middletown, husband of Marisa (Germano) Fazzino for 53 years, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family, on May 30th at Middlesex Hospital, CT. On August 8th, 1940, Nicolo was born and raised in Melilli, Italy and was the beloved son of the late Salvatore Fazzino and Giuseppina Vinci Fazzino. He was predeceased by two sisters, Anna Cavarra and Lucia Formica. He is survived by his sister, Mariella Gaudino. He leaves his sons, Salvatore Fazzino, husband of Maria (Malatesta) Fazzino, of Durham, Gaetano Fazzino of Wallingford; and his daughter, Maria Vita, wife of Lucien Vita, of Westport. Survived by his grandchildren: Joshua, Jacob, Zachary, Julianna, Nicolo and Cecilia. He was predeceased by in-laws, Angelo Cavarra and Sebastiano Formica. He leaves his in-laws, Vincenzo Germano, Claudio and Nella Colombo, Joseph Gaudino, Adriana and Mike Brown, Lori Pawlow, and Jeff Pawlow. He was predeceased by his nephew, Alessandro Colombo; and survived by many nieces and nephews.
Nicolo grew up in Melilli, Italy. He immigrated to Middletown in 1966 with his sisters and parents. He worked hard as a business owner and real estate developer. He was devoted to his wife, his children and his extended family. After retirement, he spent much of his time in Florida with his wife. During retirement, he was able to enjoy fishing, gardening, making wine, watching soccer, and especially spending time with his family. As a parishioner of St. Sebastian Church in Middletown, his faith in God had strengthened through the years. He was much loved and respected by those who knew him and he will be missed dearly.
Friends and relatives may call at D'Angelo Funeral Home, 22 South Main Street, Middletown, from 5pm to 7pm on Thursday, June 2nd. A Funeral Mass will be held on June 3, 2022 at 10am at St. Sebastian Church, 155 Washington St, Middletown. Burial will be held immediately after Mass at St. Sebastian Cemetery, 75 Meriden Rd, Rockfall, CT.
