Nicolo "Nicholas" Saraceno of Middletown, husband of Mary (Magnano), passed away peacefully on July 12th, 2023. He was born in Melilli, Sicily, on February 19th, 1934, son of Sebastian and Concetta (Campo) Saraceno. He is survived by his loving wife, Mary (Magnano), of 62 years. He is also survived by his sisters Pinuccia Passanisi (Saraceno), Nella Bafumi (Saraceno) both of Melilli, Sicily, brother Salvatore and Barbera Saraceno of Clearwater, Florida, and sister and brother-in-law Filomena and Carmelo Bafumi (Saraceno) of Middletown, CT. Nicolo was the proud father of and survived by his three sons, Sebastian Saraceno of Plainville, Salvatore and Steven Saraceno of Middletown; three daughters-in-law, Joanne, Stefania, and Denise Saraceno. Grandfather to Nicholas, Tiana Alderuccio (Saraceno), Jonathon, Michael, David, Giancarlo, Grace, Christian, Alyssa, and Nicole Saraceno. Nicolo and Mary were married on August 31, 1961, in Melilli, Sicily, and soon after immigrated to Middletown, CT, where he was employed at International Silver and Pratt & Whitney, where he retired after 20 years. In retirement, Nicolo loved spending time outdoors, especially in his garden, where tomato and pepper plants were plentiful. His olives and hot peppers were a staple at every Sunday lunch. Christmas was a special time as he always prepared his Baccala and Polpo dishes for all to enjoy. He also enjoyed spending time with his family at his summer beach home in Old Lyme, CT. He was a devoted member of Saint Sebastian Church, attending Sunday Mass whenever he could.
Friends and family can pay their respects on Tuesday, July 18th from 9 to 10:30 a.m. at the D'Angelo's Funeral Home, 22 South Main St., Middletown, CT, followed by a Funeral Mass at Saint Sebastian's Church 11:00 a.m., and burial service at Saint Sebastian Cemetery.
