Obituary

Robert J. LeVasseur, 77 of Middletown, CT passed away unexpectedly on September 12, 2022 at St. Francis Hospital, Hartford, CT. He leaves behind his wife of 50 years, Uella (Ella) LeVasseur (Pizzuto).
He was the son of Francis & Barbara (Cormier) LeVasseur. He is predeceased by his brothers, Charles, Richard and John and his sister Janet (Ranno). He is survived by his son David LeVasseur and his wife Rebecca (Curlew), as well as his sister-in-law Jo LeVasseur, brother-in-law William Ranno and his special Aunt Louise (Cormier) Cawvey of San Antonio, TX.
He served in the US Army, stationed in Korea. He worked there as a chef and after the service went on to work on various yachts in FL and later in restaurants in CT. He was employed as a machinist in CT and then worked at Electric Boat in Groton. In his later years he was employed with the State of CT as a Building Supervisor at the Middletown, CT Superior Courthouse, until his retirement in 2009.
Bob's favorite vacations were traveling to Myrtle Beach, SC and Lake George, NY. He enjoyed boating and in later years enjoyed riding his "Honda Touring" motorcycle with Ella in her "Queen seat" behind him. They also loved going on rides with their many motorcycle friends.
The family wishes to especially thank the St. Francis Hospital ICU Department's staff, doctors, PA's and nurses for their dedication, caring and professionalism while caring for Bob.
Family and friends may gather at the D'Angelo Funeral Home, 22 South Main St. Middletown, Monday September 26, 2022 from 5:00pm-7:00pm. A funeral mass will be held on Tuesday September 27, 2022 at 10:00am at St. Sebastian Church on 155 Washington St., Middletown, CT. Burial will immediately follow at St. Sebastian's Cemetery, 75 Meriden Rd. Rockfall, CT.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations can be made in Robert's name to the Wounded Warriors Project, 370 7th Ave, Suite 1802, NY, New York 10001 or to a charity of your choice.
