Ronald Michael Cannata, 75, of Middletown, beloved husband of Rosalind (Russo) Cannata, passed away on December 10 th at Middlesex Hospital. Ron was born on August 19, 1945 in Middletown, son of the late Salvatore (Beef) and Tina (Faraci) Cannata. Ron attended Middletown public schools and graduated from Woodrow Wilson Senior High Class of 1963. Ron was a US Navy veteran (1964/68) and a life member of the DAV Chapter #7. He was a member of IUOE Local 478 for many years and was employed by Marino Crane. He also was a 478 Active Retiree. He was employed by Durham School Services and then DATTCO as a Van Driver for the past eight years. He was a Life Member of BPOElks 771. |

Ron enjoyed meeting his friends at Dunkin Donuts for daily chats. Ron is survived by: sons; Scott (Suzanne) Szalkiewicz of Milford; Bryan (Jennifer) Cannata of Meriden; Robert (Maria) Cannata of Colorado; and daughter-in-law Kori Cannata of Minnesota. Grampy's grandchildren: Sydney and Spencer Szalkiewicz; Alexis, Nathan, Trevor, Meriah, Ryker, N'Kai and Jacie Cannata. Special sister-and brother-in-laws; Kathleen (Russo) and Thomas Tokarz and Joseph Russo all of Old Saybrook. Uncle, cousins, nieces, nephews and many friends. He was predeceased by his parents and twin son Ronald J Cannata; and nephew Dennis Antonucci. |

Ron will be missed by all. Due to COVID restrictions, a Mass at St Sebastian Church and military service to follow at the Veterans Cemetery will be announced at a later date. D'Angelo Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements |
