LaBella, Rose
Rose LaBella of 111 DeKoven Drive died peacefully at Wadsworth Glen Health Care on Thursday, April 19, 2018 at age 89. She was the daughter of Salvatore LaBella and Anna Sbona LaBella. She was predeceased by a sister Carmelina Didato and a brother Angelo LaBella.
Born in Middletown, she was a graduate of Middletown High School and a lifelong resident of her community. Prior to her retirement, she was employed as a secretary and bookkeeper. Family, church, and reading were her passions. She was an active member of the St. Theresa's Guild, which provided repass meals to families and friends as an extension of funeral services celebrating the lives of loved ones. She was also a frequent visitor and browser at the Russell Library. It was not unusual for her to be reading a number of books at the same time.
Ms. LaBella leaves nieces Mary Howie of Killingworth and Debra Merzoian of Fresno, CA and nephews Joseph Didato of Mashpee, MA and Salvatore LaBella, of Fort Lauderdale, FL. In addition, she leaves many grand nieces and nephews and good friend Mary Ann Cannata.
A funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. at St. Sebastian's Church on Wednesday, April 25, 2018. Interment to be followed at the church's cemetery.
