Colavito, Rosemarie
Rosemarie Marino Colavito, 82, passed away on Saturday, February 17, 2018 at Water's Edge Health and Rehabilitation Center with her loving family at her side. Born on July 4, 1935, she was the daughter of the late John J. and Sebastiana Salafia Marino, and she was the wife of the late Louis "Cleats" Colavito for 60 years.
Rosemarie was a lifelong resident of Middletown graduating from Middletown High School in 1953 where she began her singing career. With minimal formal training, she became an accomplished soloist. Rosemarie was a member of the St. Sebastian Church Choir, participated in several productions sponsored by the Middletown Civitan Group, was a member of the Middlesex Hospital Vocal Chords and sang at countless wedding and funeral Masses throughout her lifetime.
Rosemarie was a loving wife and mother who enjoyed many years at home raising her family. She returned to work joining the staff at Middlesex Hospital in the early 70s, retiring after 15 years of service. Rosemarie's greatest pride and joy were her grandchildren. She spent countless hours with them throughout the years babysitting, on beach vacations, at Sunday dinners, holidays and special occasions teaching them many important life lessons and the value of family. She loved each and every one of them with all her heart.
Rosemarie is survived by her daughter Donna Jaskot and her husband Tony; her son Scott and his wife Sue; her son Chris and his wife Karen; her grandchildren Dan Jaskot and Kelly Ryan, Greg Jaskot, Matt and Tracy Jaskot, Amanda Colavito and Adam and Jonathan Colavito and her great-granddaughter Ainsley Hope Jaskot and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and her husband Rosemarie was predeceased by her brothers Sebastian "Mike" Marino, Francis "Chick" Marino, John J. Marino, Jr. and her great-grandson Brayden McLaughlin Jaskot.
Rosemarie's family gives special thanks to the fourth floor nurses and aides at Water's Edge and the Hospice staff from Middlesex Hospital for the loving care and kindness they gave her the past 18 months.
