Obituary

Salvatore Aparo, 92, of Middletown, passed away peacefully on September 16th.  Born in San Paolo, Solarino, Sicily on July 2nd, 1933, he immigrated to the United States to build a life rooted in family, hard work, and cherished traditions. He was predeceased by his beloved wife of 43 years, Maria LaBella Aparo, his brothers and sister-in-law, Natale and Mauro (Santina) Aparo, brother-in-law Sebastiano Cavarra, brother-in-law & sister-in-law Sebastiano and Jane (Enza) LaBella. After starting his married life in America, he was employed by Fenner America Mfg., Jarvis Products, and was an integral part of hiss sons son's family business, Lino's Market. Salvatore is survived by his loving children, Marianella (Rosario, "Sari") Spada, Pasqualino "Lino" (Kim) Aparo, and Daniela (Tyler) Bailey, who will forever carry his love and guidance in their hearts. He was a proud and devoted grandfather to Giovanni, Dante, and Marco Aparo, Sabrina and Antonio Spada, and Vanessa and Marcello Esposito, each of whom brought him immense joy.  Additionally, he is survived by several nieces and nephews in Italy and Australia, a sister-in-law in Australia, along with 2 sister-in laws and their families in Italy. Salvatore took great pride in his garden, earning numerous awards at the Durham Fair for his abundant tomatoes and other fruits and vegetables. He found joy in simple pleasures—sharing fond memories and conversations with customers, sharing slices of cheese or fruit with children, and offering a taste of his homemade wine to family and friends. His warm smile, generosity, and kind spirit touched all who knew him. Salvatore will be remembered not only for his devotion to family but also for the kindness and hospitality he extended to everyone around him. He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all whose lives he touched.
