Salvatore Pennuto of Middletown, CT, passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, May 4, 2025 with his family by his side. He was 86 years old.
Salvatore is survived by his four children and their respective spouses; Ricardo L. and Sandra Pennuto of Riverview, FL; Giovanni P. and AnnMarie Pennuto of Middletown, CT; Carlo A. and Valeria Pennuto of Tampa, FL and Debra A. and Marcos Muniz, of Smyrna, TN. Salvatore is also survived by his grandchildren, Michael, Marc, Marcos, Estefano and Gianna; and great-grandchildren, Adonnis, Lennox and Maxine. He was predeceased by his wife of 60 years, Maria Concetta Pennuto.
Salvatore is a Fourth Degree Member of the Knights of Columbus, a member of the Color Corp for Assembly 98 and former "Grand Knight" of Council #3. He was an active member of St. Sebastian's Church and was very active in the annual feast activities in honor of St. Sebastian. He was employed by the former International Silver Company in Meriden, owned his own home improvement business, and spent many years as an employee of Colt Manufacturing in West Hartford, until his retirement.
Salvatore was an avid gardener and was best known for his many flowers and fruit trees and his cactus plants that adorned his yard. He looked forward to his weekly visits to the Italian Society to meet with old friends and new friends and share a story or two over a cup of espresso.
Our family would like to express their sincerest thanks to the Middlesex Hospital Hospice Care team and the many physicians, nurses and caregivers that shared their love and compassion for our father.
Calling hours will be held on Thursday, May 8, 2025 from 4 p.m.-7 p.m. at D'Angelo Funeral Home located at 22 South Main Street in Middletown, CT. Funeral service will be held on Friday, May 9, 2025 at 10 a.m. at St. Sebastian Church, in Middletown, with interment to follow at St. Sebastian Cemetery immediately thereafter.
