Obituary

Sebastian "Joe" Gaudino
Sebastian "Joe" Gaudino, 78, of Middletown, passed away peacefully at home on January 9, 2023 after a lengthy illness. His wife Maria of 55 years and family were by his side.
Joe was born May 16, 1944 in Melilli, Italy. He was the son of the late Vincenzo and Rosa (Cavaliere) Gaudino. Joe was preceded in death by his brother Salvatore (Josephine) Gaudino, brother-in-law Nicolo Fazzino, brother-in-law Angelo and sister-in-law Anna Cavarra, brother-in-law Sebastian and sister-in-law Lucy Formica.
Joe is survived by his wife Maria (Fazzino), daughter Rose (Matthew) Butler, sons James (Dawn) Gaudino, Sal (Lauren) Gaudino and sister-in-law Marisa Fazzino. He is also survived by his grandchildren: Nicholas, Justin and Aiden Butler, Joseph, Vincenzo and Santino Gaudino, Dominic, Dimitri and Adriana Gaudino. He will also be missed by many cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
Joe was quite the soccer player while growing up in Italy. Educated in both Italy and the United States, Joe also served two years in the Italian Navy. Joe and his wife came to the United States in their early twenties, with only hopes and dreams in their pockets, and worked hard to make better lives for themselves and their children through owning and operating Countryside Market and Rockfall Garage until retirement. Joe's biggest passion was spending time with his grandchildren, he also enjoyed his time at the Italian Club and early mornings at the golf course. Of course, nothing could prevent Joe from watching his favorite sport, soccer, of which he enjoyed to his final days, including the World Cup.
