Sebastian J. Russo, 88 of Niantic, formerly of Middletown, beloved husband of Dolores ( Branciforte) Russo, for fifty four years, died peacefully at his home surrounded by his loving family on Monday February 26, 2018. Graduated from Woodrow Wilson High School and was the captain of the Football team in 1948. He was a Veteran of the Korean War serving with the United States Army. Seb. Retired from Pratt Whitney Aircraft after 35 years. He was a member of St. Francis Church Choir, The Knights of Columbus and the Elks Lodge #771, He was a devoted husband and father who enjoyed special bonds with each of his grandchildren. Along with his wife he is survived by his daughter Geralyn M. Russo of Niantic his grandchildren whom he adored Vincent S. and his wife Tanya

( Jansen) Russo of Ellington, Evan D. Ternullo and Ava E. Ternullo both of Niantic. Two nieces Kathy Vecchitto and Joanne Russo and many cousins and his life long friend of 75 years, Josephine ( Faggione) Collomore.

Funeral Services will be held Tuesday morning at 10:30 A.M. from the D'Angelo Funeral Home 22 south main St, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:45 at St. Francis Church. Burial with military honors will be in the State Veteran's Cemetery, Middletown. Family and friends may call at the funeral home Tuesday from 9-10:30
