Sebastian J. "Sebby" Russo, Middletown, CT. It is with deep sadness that the family of "Sebby" Russo, 49, announce his peaceful passing on July 11, 2023 at Middlesex Hospital, after courageously fighting a long illness. He tenaciously held onto life despite the many medical difficulties he faced. "Sebby" loved his family very much and enjoyed all family gatherings. He was a life-long fan of the New York Giants and the Boston Red Sox and tried to watch every game. "Sebby" is survived by his devoted father, Giovanni, who was constantly by his side to encourage and advocate for him. He leaves behind his loving sister Tina Milardo, his brother-in-law Sebastian Milardo, and his nephew and niece Vincent and Alessandra Milardo. "Sebby" is also survived by his loving Nonna, Lina Salafia and his aunts, uncles and cousins. He was predeceased by his beloved mother, Mary ("Mariuccia Salafia) Russo. "Sebby" was very close to his mother and the family finds comfort and peace knowing they will be together again.

In lieu of flowers donations in his memory may be made to the Renovation Fund of St. Sebastian Church, Middletown. The Funeral Liturgy will be held, Wednesday, July 19, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Sebastian Church, 155 Washington St, Middletown. Burial will follow at St. Sebastian Cemetery, Middlefield. Calling hour will be held on Wednesday from 9:00 to 10:30 a.m. at D'Angelo Funeral Home, 22 South Main St. Middletown.
