Obituary

FAZZINO, SEBASTIANO, Sebastiano Fazzino, 88 of Middletown, beloved husband of Francesca (Benzi) Fazzino passed away peacefully on Monday, September 28, 2015, surrounded by his loving family. Sebastiano was born on January 9, 1927, in Melilli, Sicily, to Salvatore Fazzino and Concetta (Logiudice). Besides his loving wife of 58 years, he leaves behind three adoring children, Tina, Linda and Steve, sons-in-law, Steve and Guy, and four grandchildren, Marlana and Matthew Gomes and Brandon and Kyle Macpherson. He was predeceased by four sisters, Lucia, Vincenza, Carmelina and Rosina, and two brothers, Nicholas and Joseph. He also leaves behind many loving nieces and nephews. Sebastiano enjoyed his garden, his fruit trees, making his home-made wine, his rabbits and chickens, but most of all, he loved the time he spent with his family. He enjoyed constant company at his home, inviting people for a meal or cup of coffee. Sebastiano did not miss a Saturday night at the Italian Society, meeting friends and playing cards for candy or nickels. He was known to tell great stories, many from what he called in the old country," and he loved to make people laugh. He was "nosey" and curious and started conversations with whomever he met, asking their name, occupation, marital status or how many children they had. His, caring, unassuming behavior always elicited a response. When he wasn't talking, he was taking one of his naps, regardless of how many people were around. He will truly be missed by all who knew him. Calling hours will be from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Friday, October 2, 2015, D' Angelo Funeral Home on 22 South Main Street, Middletown. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday morning October 3,rd at 10 A.M. at Sebastian Church, 155 Washington St. ( Please go Directly to Church) . Those who wish to make a donation in his memory can donate to St. Sebastian Church or the American Stroke Association.
