Sharon Joy (Mulqueen) Criscuolo
Born in New Haven, CT on September 4, 1943, she passed away on April 12, 2023 peacefully
at home surrounded by her family. She was predeceased by her mother, Frances Mancini
Mulqueen and her father, John P. Mulqueen, Sr. She is survived by her brother, John (Jack)
Mulqueen, Jr. (Christopher) of Guilford, CT, her daughter, Kelly Joy Munro, of Durham, CT her
son, Michael A. Criscuolo (Sandra) of Rocky Hill, CT. Sharon is also survived by her
grandchildren to whom she was devoted, Daniel and Jared Munro and Lucy and Eric Criscuolo.
Sharon worked for many years as a legal secretary to law firms in Middletown and New Haven,
CT. In her later years she was employed by School District 13 (Durham/Middlefield) as a
special education paraprofessional. Sharon often described her work with children as her
dream job and she continued helping children until her retirement in the fall of 2022. Sharon's
true joy was to be involved with her grandchildrens' many activities and she attended all their
sports activities, always sitting in her "red chair".
Sharon resided in Durham. CT for 52 years and was involved in many community activities
including as a member of the Republican Town Committee, as a Superintendent for the Durham
Fair and as member of Our Lady of Mercy (Fka Notre Dame) Catholic Church in Durham, CT.
Friends are invited to calling hours on April 17, 2023 between 5 and 7 pm at D'Angelo Funeral
Home, 22 South Main Street, Middletown, CT. Funeral services will be held on April 18, 2023 at
Our Lady of Mercy, 272 Main Street, Durham, CT at 10:00 am followed by burial at Mica Hill
Cemetery in Durham CT. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Middlesex Hospital
