Walter J. Stockwell, 72, of Middletown passed away on June 28, 2021 unexpectedly at home. Walter was born on July 9, 1948 to Wilder and Katherine Stockwell in Montague, MA. He was a decorated veteran who served in the Vietnam war. He retired from Whelen Engineering Company. In 1987, he met and wed Carol (Markham) Stockwell, step-dad of Tina, Renee, and Lorie. He enjoyed playing pool, NASCAR, cruises, Texas hold'em, country music and scenic drives. He always had something smart to say that would make you laugh. He appreciated and took care of his family with love. Walter is predeceased by his parents and his brother Herby. He is survived by his wife Carol Stockwell; his sisters Patricia Myott, Pauline Thompson; his four daughters Tina Latronica, Renee Weir, Lorie Latronica and Michelle Humphrey; and his six grandchildren Cameron, Devin, Troy, Vanessa, Courtney and Logan. Services will be held at D'Angelo Funeral Home 22 South Main Street Middletown, CT on Saturday July 17, 2021 from 3:00pm - 5:00pm. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to any charity.
